Ryan M. Johnson Obituary, Pike County, PA Motorcycle Crash Death – In Loving Memory

A Sunday evening ride ended in tragedy for 28-year-old Ryan M. Johnson of Newfoundland, Pennsylvania, when his motorcycle collided with a Nissan Murano at the intersection of Route 507 and Route 390 on May 17. Johnson, operating a 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 400, was pronounced dead at the scene after the high-speed impact caused catastrophic injuries.

Pennsylvania State Police reported that the 17-year-old driver of the Nissan, approaching from Route 390, failed to fully clear the intersection while executing a left turn. Johnson, traveling southbound on Route 507, was reportedly speeding and had consumed alcohol prior to the crash. The collision caused severe damage to both vehicles, though the teen driver was unharmed.

Emergency responders from the Pennsylvania State Police, Palmyra Township Volunteer Fire Department, and Pike County EMS arrived within minutes but could not save Johnson. Authorities closed the intersection for over four hours to conduct a full investigation, including forensic reconstruction and evidence collection.

Ryan Johnson is remembered as a vibrant and caring member of the Newfoundland community. An avid motorcyclist, fisherman, and delivery driver, he was known for his passion for mechanics, his generosity, and his love for the Pocono region. He leaves behind a grieving family and community mourning the sudden loss of a 28-year-old whose life was tragically cut short.
