As a student at Henry clay high school who experienced the lockdown, people were not taking it as serious as necessary. I was in my music class and people were laughing, playing, walking around, and some kids were playing cards in the back. They expect us to go back to normal schedule and pretend nothing happened like we didn’t just have to worry about if we were gonna make it home when half of us cant even drive yet. We have to pretend everything is okay and we shouldn’t talk about it outside of the active event. But the youngest of us are 14. No 14 year old should sit there and have to worry about that kind of thing. Luckily for me I had service and could message my family but I know some classrooms that don’t have service. It doesn’t make sense that as TEENAGERS we should worry about being harmed or worse in a place that we are supposed to be kept safe and taught. And when I asked to go to a classroom I felt safe in my teacher said “you had time to sit and relax” SIR THAT WAS NOT RELAXING.
