Julian Guerrero Missing Found Dead Obituary, San Diego, CA Death – Family Mourns Tragic Loss
Rescue crews responded around noon to reports of a water emergency near 2100 Beyer Boulevard in the Palm City neighborhood, east of Imperial Beach. By approximately 1 p.m., officials confirmed that two deceased individuals had been located in different areas of Otay Valley Regional Park. Investigators noted that the bodies were found far apart and within separate jurisdictions.
One of the deceased was identified by family members as Julian Guerrero, a 15-year-old boy with severe autism who had been missing since early Thursday morning. Neighbors reported that Julian was last seen around 1 a.m. near his home on Palm Avenue in Imperial Beach, and both he and his bicycle were gone by the time his mother woke later that morning. Friends, family, and community members had spent hours searching the area before learning of the discovery.
Julian’s body was recovered from Fenton Pond within San Diego Police jurisdiction. Lt. Cesar Jimenez of SDPD said the teen did not appear to have visible trauma. The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office has taken over the investigation to determine the official cause of death. Neighbors expressed frustration over what they perceived as a delayed response, citing concerns for the teen’s safety due to his condition.
A second body discovered Friday belonged to a man believed to be in his 60s and experiencing homelessness, according to Chula Vista police. The man was found unconscious near the riverbed and pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities stated that his death does not appear suspicious and confirmed that it is not related to the teen’s death.
The identities of both individuals are pending official release following family notification by the Medical Examiner’s Office. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Julian Guerrero’s death.
