James Paul Lake Obituary, Barnesville, PA Motorcycle Accident Death – In Loving Memory
Authorities have identified 53-year-old James Paul Lake of Barnesville as the victim of a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred Wednesday afternoon in Blythe Township. The tragic accident has left family members, friends, and the local community mourning his sudden loss as investigators continue working to determine the cause of the crash.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, the collision occurred at approximately 4:26 p.m. along Mountain Road near the intersection of Tumbling Run Road in Schuylkill County. Investigators reported that Lake was operating a 2023 Triumph Tiger motorcycle while traveling through the Tamaqua area when the crash took place.
Police said Lake approached a curve where Mountain Road bends to the left near Tumbling Run Road. As he entered the curve, he reportedly lost control of the motorcycle. Authorities stated that the bike overturned and traveled across the roadway before eventually coming to rest along the right shoulder.
Emergency crews responded to the scene after receiving reports of a serious motorcycle accident. Officials confirmed that Lake suffered significant injuries during the crash and noted that he was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. He was transported by Pottsville/Schuylkill Haven EMS to Lehigh Valley Hospital–Schuylkill for emergency medical treatment.
Despite extensive life-saving efforts by hospital personnel, Lake later died from the injuries he sustained in the collision. Authorities have not publicly released the exact time of death.
Investigators confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in the crash. At this stage, officials have not determined what caused Lake to lose control of the motorcycle while navigating the curve.
