Christian Belsito Obituary, Vaughan, ON Shooting Death – In Loving Memory

York Regional Police have identified two men killed in a shooting outside a Vaughan home on Wednesday evening. Pasquale Casciato, 49, and Christian Belsito, 34, were fatally shot while standing near Kaiser and Forest drives around 5:30 p.m. Authorities described the shooting as a targeted incident.

One of the victims reportedly lived at the home where the shooting occurred, while the other was a resident of the surrounding neighborhood. Investigators are examining a possible connection between the shooting and a vehicle fire discovered approximately 12 kilometers away near Huntington and Kirby roads, where an SUV was found engulfed in flames. Police have not released suspect descriptions but are appealing to witnesses for information as the investigation continues.

In a separate case in Brampton, Peel Regional Police arrested a Scarborough man in connection with threats made against three schools earlier this week. Investigators reported that a high school received multiple threatening phone calls between Sunday and Tuesday. Similar threats were later directed at a second high school and an elementary school.

Police determined all threats were unfounded and linked to a single individual. On Tuesday, 31-year-old Bryan Hulme was arrested and charged with utter threats and three counts of public mischief. The motive behind the threats remains unclear.

Both cases underscore ongoing concerns about public safety in the region. Authorities urge residents to remain vigilant, report any suspicious activity, and avoid spreading unverified information that could interfere with active investigations.

York Regional Police and Peel Regional Police continue to work closely with the community to gather information, provide updates, and ensure safety while investigating these separate incidents.
