Dalton Stang Obituary, Zimmerman, MN Accident Death – Family Mourns A Loss
Dalton Shaun Stang, age 30, of Zimmerman, Minnesota, tragically passed away in a motor vehicle accident on May 15, 2026. He is deeply mourned by family, friends, coworkers, and all who were fortunate to know him. Though his time with us was far too short, Dalton’s life was filled with adventure, laughter, hard work, and countless memories that will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
Dalton was born on July 26, 1995, in Paynesville, Minnesota. From a young age, he embraced life outdoors, enjoying camping, hockey, baseball, motocross racing, hunting, and fishing. He graduated from Paynesville High School in 2013 and pursued a degree as an electrical lineman at Wadena State and Community Technical College.
He dedicated his career to the utility industry, proudly serving as an Aerial Supervisor at TelCom Construction for nine years. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dalton had an entrepreneurial spirit, operating Stang Livestock Beef Sales and guiding hunting and fishing excursions.
Dalton loved horses, roping, hunting pheasants, geese, ducks, and deer, and spent countless early mornings and late nights fishing. He will be remembered for his infectious laugh, quick wit, endless jokes, and unwavering kindness. He was always ready to lend a helping hand and had a gift for making others feel seen and valued.
Dalton was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elmer and Maryann Arnzen, and Bernard Stang. He is survived by his parents, Steve Stang and Brenda (Chad) Heitschmidt; siblings Brittany (Colin) Buschette, Tifani (Dustin) Schmaltz, and Shaun (Tarah) Stang; nieces and nephews Braxton, Raegan, Jayde, Krew, Reed, Marliss, and Izabella; and his beloved dogs, Hawk and Outlaw.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Dalton’s life on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at his home, 14941 283rd Lane NW, Zimmerman, MN 55398. Memorials and flowers may be delivered Friday, May 22, and Saturday, May 23.
Dalton’s love for life was immense, and his memory will continue to inspire all who knew him.
